Symmetry is far more important than we normally think. Did you know that our brain is designed to prefer symmetric objects such as faces, architectural elements, and landscapes?
See those images for example:
This woman’s face is very symmetric and our brains translate symmetry to beauty:
Our eye can pick up the smallest asymmetry and translate it to a feeling of unease. We might even not know why but we imminently feel that something is wrong in this picture:
This is why it is so important to align the items in your slides and this is how you do it:
Take a look at this slide,
First, you want to make sure all “text boxes” are Centered (see green circle)
Next, align all items by clicking Arrange –> Align –> Align Middle
Then distribute all items evenly in the slide by clicking Arrange –> Align –> Distribute Horizontally
Finally, you can center all items to the center of the slide by grouping them together (Ctrl + G) and clicking Arrange –> Align –> Align to slide
Congratulations, you now have a perfectly symmetric slide in only 4 simple steps.
Asking questions are genuinely nice thing if you are not understanding something totally, except this post gives pleasant understanding even. Evangelina Ward Tootsie
